Carol Blake,

My GG grandmother was Dorcus Blake. She had a son named Joseph Blake. Joseph was my G grandfather. He married Jane Huckaby. I know she had a daughter named Sarah. She had other children but I will have to look them up. Part of the time her children lived with her and part of the time not. She is supposed to be Native American but we haven't found the link yet. Sometimes she went by the name Blakley/Blakey/Bleaksley. One of her sons was in the military and his service records gave her maiden name as Lowery or Lowry. She is very hard to trace but we think she may have came up from GA in the 1830's.

Joseph was killed in the log woods.

Dorcus was on the Fentress County TN census -- I believe in 1840 and maybe 1850.

I would like to communicate with you and share info.

Who were you parents and G grandparents?

We know of four children that Dorcus had. But if Enoch was her son then she probably had five.

I am very much looking forward to hearing from you.

Sonja
