I am a descendant of John Joseph Blakey, born in Berwickshire in the 1860s. He married Margaret Quin in Berwick in September 1887.
I have not been able to find any connections before 1887. He died in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, in 1909. He may be the son of George Blackie, born in Edrom, Berwickshire, in the 1840s. I cannot find ancestors in Scotland using the Blakey spelling.
Any help would be appreciated.
