My grandad (also called Alan) was born in Hartlepool in 1921. He is an only child to Thomas Charles (born late 1880's I think) & Susannah Blakey (married 1916). I know that his grandfather, maybe even greatgrandfather was called William.
Can you tell me if this is any connection to your research? I would be interested in any info you have.
