Dear Norma, or anyone else on the bulletin board,
This is for anyone reading the posting here. We're brand-new to this site. My wife is looking for information on her great-grandmother. We know her g-g's last name is Blakesley. She married a man named Mr. Rose somewhere in southern Iowa (my wife's native town is Shenandoah in 1949). She was a store-owner, and had a boarding house. Great-grandma Blakesley also had a sister who played either piano or organ for the evangelist, Billy Sunday.
The Rose's had a daughter, Gertrude Penroe Rose, who married Raymond Sydney Cook in Creston, and moved back and forth from Creston and St. Joseph, Missouri. Their son, Joseph Cook, was my wife's father. Do any of these names ring any bells with anyone out there?
Than ks for any help you can give.
