Hi:
Still trying to find the parents of John Henry Blakeslee, born 8 Dec. 1872 in Dallas, Luzerne Co., PA.
I have found out that his mother's name was ALICE from his SS record, not Mary as listed on his death certificate. Her last name is Watson. I have gone over and over the census for 1870 & 1880 again and still have not found them.
I even sent for a pension file for a George & Alice Blakeslee living in CA out of desperation, but that wasn't them. No children listed in the census or pension files. Anyway, I doubt they would have a child in 1872, then leave for CA and leave the child behind. It could be a possibility, but I doubt it.
Is there a nickname for Alice? Does anyone know anything at all on this family? I sure could use the help on this.
