History of Old Cheraws/NC Wills online
Hi everyone,
Some of you may already be aware of this, but if not, while searching the web for Blakeney info, I found 2 books that are online and free to use, that directly reference Capt. John Blakeney. They are:
History of The Old Cheraws:

and Abstract of North Carolina Wills:

In History of Old Cheraws, you can perform a search for a name and it will mark all pages that contain that name. You may want to search for "blak" instead of "blakeney" since I stumbled across a reference to Capt. John in which his last name was misspelled (Blakenney). It was a 1776 reference to his election as an officer in his church.
There are also references to some of his other family members.
In the Abstract of NC wills, you can find the reference that has been cited as the first documentation of John Blakeney in America. He is witnessing the will of John Lynch in 1753.That book is also searchable.
