We too have an Irish THOMAS BLAKENEY SR. in our family. In fact, we're seeking genealogical information on the entire Irish BLAKENEY family line. Our earliest Blakeney that we've been able to trace is a THOMAS R. BLAKENEY SR., born in 1844 in Dublin, Ireland.
Thomas emigrated to the USA in the 1850s, fought in the Civil War, married HELEN MURRAY and had three children: John William Blakeney Sr. (b. 1869); Thomas R. Blakeney Jr. (b. abt. 1876); and Margaret Blakeney (b. abt. 1877). All three children seem to have been born in Massachusetts.
It's obvious that our Thomas Blakeneys are not the same individuals, but if you have any knowledge of our Thomas, and/or of his Irish descendants, please contact us. We're quite willing to share whatever information we have on the Blakeneys as well.
