My great great grandfather, Zerah Blakely (1797-1865) moved to Gallia County, Ohio from Conneaut Village, Crawford County, PA between 1826 when his first child was born and 1838 when the last child was born. His parents were James Blakely Sr. (1760-1836) and Ruth Root, both born in Connecticut. James and Ruth moved to Gallia County in 1818. Other children were Parly/Polly, James Jr., Abraham, Betsy, Mabel and Franklin. I have this line back to Samuel Blakely(Blakeslee) who came from England in 1635. I am descended from Zerah's second marriage to Harriet Strong Croy through their daughter, Hulda Rosalie Blakely.
