Brenda: I can't help very much with the Blakely question, but I want to take time to thank you for all the work you have done on the Boyds. I only recently discovered that my Isabella that was married to John Parks was Isabella Boyd, daughter of William Blanton Boyd and Catherine McClurkin. John and Isabella moved to Cherokee Co.,Alabama along with their son-in-law, William Simpson Pitts and daughter Nancy Elizabeth Parks Pitts. I have most of the children of John and Isabella and 90%of the descendants of William Simpson Pitts and Nancy Elizabeth Parks Pitts. I would also add that William Simpson Pitts brother, John Belton Pitts married Elizabeth Catherine Pinson, daughter of Isaac Pinson and Catherine Boyd, also a daughter of William Blanton Boyd. It seems that James Parks, probably a brother of John Parks and Elizabeth Curtis Parks married Margaret Boyd. Catherine Harris Boyd, daughter of James Boyd and Elizabeth Curtis Parks married Edwin Leroy Pitts, gr. grandson of Henry Pitts and Hannah Collier. Now, I am descended from the Henry Pitts that married Mary (probably Dudgeon) that was a according to most genealogist a first cousin of Henry Pitts that married Hannah Collier. I descend through the son John Pitts, Esq. and Hannah Belton Pitts, through William Simpson Pitts and Nancy Elizabeth Parks Pitts.
As you can see, I have almost linked most of the Laurens/Newberry people to me.
Thanks to people like you and John H. Boyd, you have made my Boyd research easier. I again want to thank you.
I believe that several researchers are confusing William Blanton Boyd that married Catherine McClurkin dates with those of his father, William Blanton Boyd that married Margaret Evelene Cochran.
