You might try land records. I was able to prove the relationships in my Moses Blakely (b 13 Jan 1758-3 Jan 1837) thru land records. I was amazed at all the details they listed in land records (like one son-in-law's occuapation as a penmanship teacher). My Moses Blakely settled in Sodus, Wayne Co. NY.
