My Blackleys arrived in the United States in the time frame you specified, coming from Little London, Cambridgeshire, England in April 1854. Richard Blackley and Susan Clax married in England and had ten children, two of whom died in England. One child, their daughter Susan, married in England. There are still six children unaccounted for... my gr-gr-grandfather William Jonathan Blackley b. 1839 is the only one who is documented. My Blackleys settled in Lockport, N.Y. and were prominent builders throughout the latter half of the 1800's. All this is on my website at http://www.kattax.com/apfel There may not be a connection, but hope this helps.

George T. Apfel
