Betty, your John Blakely was probably the son of Greenberry Blakely, b. 1804, VA, who d. 1888 in St. Clair Co. AL. If this is the same one, his mother would have been Jane Burford. I think Greenberry was the son of the RS, Aquilla Blakley, who d. in Blount Co. AL in 1838.
I have several John Blakleys as ancestors, but Greenberry is not in my line as far as I can tell.
