Edna, please recheck your dates and sources. I have a John Blakely who was born in 1785 in VA. John had a sister, Elizabeth, who was born in 1786 in VA. Birmingham, AL did not exist in 1796.

And, I know of a Pinckney Blakley who was b. in 1866 in AL and d. in 1929 in Johnson Co. AR.

Maybe we can sort out the information concerning these Blakelys and see if we find a match.
