Sorry ... The Shelbyana is some kind of newsletter (1980's)and the Family History Center here in Arizona has some bound copies of these newsletters. Book 977.145 D25s Vol 1-15. I don't know who published it or if it is in even still being published today.
In the newsletter there are queries from people (before the computer days)and it contains research that they have done. The will abstracts were obviously taken from Court documents and could be even found today in their original form. Someone as just gone through them and condensed the original will into information helpful for those of us doing research. In a nutshell it's just saying that around 1842 Robert Blakely died and his kids, including a Bennett (which may or may not be your guy) were going to have a Samuel Blakely look after them. One could assume Samuel is a relative of Robert. It look like Nehemiah Bennett witnessed this will ( you'd have to look at the orginal) and he too is most likely a relative...MAYBE Robert's wife's father or brother.
There are also Naturalization lists of people in Shelby Couty in the 1840's. From the Shelbyana it reads:
"Bk 4, Pg136. 18 Aug 1840. Certificates of citizenship granted to: ... Robert Blakely ..."
