Hi Gale,
Can you tell me anything about Lewis or his sister Jane? The WV Heritage book says Jane b. abt 1795, daughter of William Blake and Mary Ocheltree, never married but had children. I think she may have been the mother of Lewis A., Jonathan, and Amanda.

Her death record says she was the consort of Peter Blake, but daughter Amanda's death record says she was daughter of Jane and Lewis Blake. Trouble is, which Peter? which Lewis?

The children could have had different fathers, but her first child was named Lewis. (He's my husband's ancestor.)

Any help with this puzzle appreciated, and thanks for your post.
