GREENVIEW - Donald D. Blake, 81, of Greenview, formerly of Springfield, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born July 25, 1925, in Bluford, the son of W. Alfred and Edna Johnson Blake. He married Yvonne Taylor in 1947 in Springfield.
Mr. Blake was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He retired from Pillsbury Mills after 40 years. He was a member of Laurel United Methodist Church.
Survivors: wife, Yvonne; three sons, Kirk D. (wife, Rachel) Blake of Lewisburg, Tenn., Kent T. (wife, Kathy) Blake of Chatham and Kevin D. (wife, Mary) Blake of Springfield; two daughters, Karen L. (husband, David) Jaynes of Greenview and Kim N. Blake of Greenview; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: noon Thursday, Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery.
