I just this minute received a message from my dad (a Blair). Here is what he wrote. Maybe we can help each other:"I believe
John Calvin Blair is my great grandfather.
Now I'm going to back up to Scotland and come down to John Calvin.
King John of Scotland married a Blair. When King ?? Of England defeated his
army and took over Scotland installed the Church of England. There were 2
Brice Blairs father and son. The son moved to Ireland because of Church near
Waterloo (??spelling).Didn't like it there and moved to So Carolina. His
first wife died there and is buried near Charlston-Orangeburg.Because of
Slavery moved to Tenn.He is buried near Nashville. After Tenn voted to be
a slave State the moved to So Ill, I believe that would be John Calvin Blair.
One of the Blairs married a Brackenridge while in this area."
