James Blair "died intestate sometime in the year 1772", lived King Geo/Westmoreland Co. VA per VA Legislative Petitions. Wife SARAH.
He was associated with Ashton, Galloway, Gowen, & Armstrong families.
Margaret Blair m. David Galloway
Sarah Blair m. Burdit Ashton
Elizabeth Blair m. Charles Gowens (my lineage)
Anne Blair m. William Armstrong.
Year 1791, William Armstong deeds to Thacker Washington 400 ac. portion of James Blair estate. Finding records on these Blair daughters has been scanty. Have determined that William Armstrong & Anne lived Winchester VA.
I understand from BLAIR research, that there are several Blairs who were involved with the sea. I'm thinking that Capt. James was a Seaman of some sort. I'm assuming that he went away to Sea and for whatever reason never returned, per the Petitions filed by the Males who m. Blair daughters. I've been at a loss for clues to determine who James may have been related to in this extensive BLAIR lineage.
