Does anyone know who John Grounds who graduated from Carlisle Indian School in 1899. He was also married to Mary Grounds, but do not know if Grounds is her maiden name or not. Alot of cousins married back then. I am researching Indian background in my Grounds family. Both my grandfather, Johnnie Wesley Grounds and Mary Conner, had Indian features. I have found the Indian bloodline on Mary Conner side, but not on Grounds, yet. I know my Dad always said his dad was ashamed of being Indian, and would not talk about it. There is a Grounds, Ann E. listed on the Eastern Indian roll on page 122 shows she came from GA. Please if anyone has any info that could solve my mystery, please email me back. Thanks for any help
