I believe that Colbert Blair is not the son
of James and Mary (Colbert) Blair.
I will start with the following document:

more especially for and in Consideration of
the sum Fifteen Shillings of good and lawful
money for our use paid to our Receiver
General of our Revenues in this Colony and
Dominion of Virginia We have given granted
and confirmed and by these presents for Us
our Heirs and Successors Do Give Grant and
Confirm unto Colbord Blair one certain Tract
or Parcel of Land containing on hundred and
fifty four acres lying and being in the
county of Amherst on both sides the South
branch of the middle fork of Pedlar River
and bounded as followeth,to wit.
Beginning at Pointers of James Colbord Blairs
and with his lines due East at fourteen poles
South Branch thirty eight Poles to a white
oak thence on new Lines eight Degrees East
ninety Poles to a red oak North twenty four
Degrees East at one hundred and twenty Poles
a Branch one hundred and sixty eight Poles to
a Hickory North seventy eight Degrees West at
sixteen Poles South branch as eighty two
Poles a Branch one hundred and eight Poles to
a white oak South twenty four Degrees West
one hundred and twenty poles to a Chesnus Oak
South five Degrees East as sixty eight Poles
a Branch one hundred and fifty four Poles to
Pointers just over a branch and South seventy
two Degrees East twenty six Poles to the
Beginning. With all gc.To have hold gc.To be
held gc.Yielding and Paying gc.Provided gc.
In witness gc.witness our Trusty and welbe-
loved Francis Fauguier Esquire our Lieutenant
Governor and Commander in Chief of our said
Colony and Dominion at Williamsburg under the
Seal of our said Colony the tenth day of July
one thousand seven hundred and sixty six in
the sixth year of our Reign.

Gene Blair states there are errors in this
document.I find no errors.

The name Mary Colbert, according to Charlotte
Stewart-Historian for Blair Society, comes
from a family reunion late 1800's.She also
states that there are Colberts in many areas
of Pennsylvania that could be associated with
Blairs.She has no documentation to back up
her statements.
In checking Pennsylvania county records from
1700 to 1750 there is no Colbert or any
variation of the name connected or remotely
connected to any Blair.As a matter of fact
there are no Colberts in that time period of
Pennsylvania.
