This is a followup message to clarify that which was not included in the body of my previously posted message entitled "The Bishop and the Judge". I apologize for not including this detail in the previous message and I hope to hear from you.
Bishop Oscar Penn Fitzgerald's younger brother was Adolphus Leigh Fitzgerald who was also also born in Ruffin township, Rockingham County, NC.
He was studying law at the University of North Carolina when the War Between the States broke out and he served in Confederate Army.
After the war, he went to California, and at some point moved to Nevada, where he became
Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court.
Justice Fitzgerald later in life moved to Boston Mass. where he died and where many of his descendents still reside.
Bishop Fitzgerald and his younger brother Justice Fitzgerald were very close and kept up with each other all during life, corresponding frequently.
I am very much hoping to be able to trace their parentage above what I know, as set out in my originally posted message.
Thank You for all assistance and Best Regards.
