I have no information on the Mooney family at all. My grandfather was born Archie Monroe Banister, but changed his name to Arthur Mooney. I have traced the Banister family back to Burrel Banister, who married Margaret Blades the daughter of Luke Blades (abt. 1754 England), and Catherine Salior(or Osborn). Is this your Blades descendant? I have always had a gut feeling that the Mooney's were in some way related to my grandfather. It's not the kind of name you would just come up with. His mother was a Miller, and was at least part Indian. It could have been her mother's name. I have been told Indians maternal lines are very important to them. I would like to see the information if you don't mind, since Burrel died in Indiana. I wasn't even aware that Mooney was an Irish name. There were some Mooney's living in Oklahoma Indian Territory. Infact there was a Dr. Mooney who wrote a early genealogy on the families of Oklahoma. I would like to see the information. Maybe something will ring a bell. I have nothing to lose.
