Francis (Fannie) Blades m. James Salmon 1808 Surry Co NC

I'm searching for information regarding my possible 4G-grandmother, Francis (Fannie) Blades, who is believed to have lived in Surry Co NC during the early 1800's. Some researchers have indicated on genealogy website postings that there is a record in Surry County NC for Francis' marriage to my 4G-grandfather, James Salmon, which is dated 8 Oct 1808--I've not been able to find or confirm the existence of that record.

If that record does exist and is accurate, it could possibly provide insight as to whether this Francis Blades is the same woman as the Frances Nightengale who is also listed as being married to James Salmon by a number of Salmon family researchers--it's possible, for example, that the name Nightengale could have been her maiden name and she first married to a Blades prior to her marriage to James. Until I can find and view the details of this marriage record, it's difficult to ascertain whether Francis Blades and Frances Nightengale are one and the same person.

This raises an interesting question about whether James had been married before this 8 Oct 1808 marriage to Francis Blades. I've seen entries in other researchers' family group sheets showing Laviney and Russell Salmon being born before this date--if so, they would have to have a different mother than the children born to Francis Blades after that date. If James in fact was born about 1773 as his 1850 census record suggests, then it stands to reason that he likely didn't wait until he was 35 to marry for the first time. I've searched for a marriage record for James in Sussex County DE but so far, no luck.

James Salmon and his brother Joseph Salmon are listed as heads of households in the 1800 and 1810 US censuses of Surry County NC:

1800 Census:

* Series M32, roll 32, page 692. James Salmon is listed as the head of the household consisting of two males less than 10 years, one male age 16-25, one female less than 10 years old, and one female age 16-25. His brother Joseph Salmon is listed as living nearby, two entries away from James.

* Series M32, roll 32, page 692. Joseph Salmon is listed as the head of the household consisting of one male age 26-44, three females less than age 10 and one female age 16-25.

1810 Census:

* Series M252, roll 43, page 173. James Salmon is listed as the head of the household consisting of one male less than age 10, two males age 10-16, one male age 26-44 and one male age 45 or older; one female less than age 10 and one female age 26-44.

* Series M252, roll 43, page 199. Joseph Salmon is listed as the head of the household consisting of one male less than age 10, one male age 26-44; one female age less than 10, two females age 10-16 and one female age 26-44.

I've found no listings in either the 1800 or 1810 US census in DE or NC for a Nightengale, Nightingale or Blade surname head of household. In the 1800 US census of Rockingham Co. NC appears a head of household named Pitman Blades. In the 1810 US census, there appears two Blades heads of household of possible interest: an Edward Blades in Rowan Co. NC and a William Blades in Sussex Co. DE. More research is needed to determine if any of these three Blades individuals are related in any manner to Francis Blades Salmon.

Any help or leads about this Blades family member would be greatly appreciated.
