Thank you, Linda, for the information; however I'm not sure that your Blackwood line is mine. In 1870 Ouachita Co., AR census, p.232, there is a J.Blackwood, 45, MS with children: John 22 MS, A.J. (male) 20 MS, M.S. (female) 17 MS, N.C. 17 (female)AR, A.V. (female) AR, Almeta 4 MS, and M. (female) 2 AR. The wife of this man appears to be deceased.

In 1860 Ouachita AR census appears Johnson Blackwood 35, Elizabeth 30, children: John 11, Andrew J. 10, Mary 7, and Nancy 4. I have thought that this Johnson Blackwood was probably the father of "my" Almedia but am not sure of it even though he appears to have a daughter named Almeta. I am also very interested in learning the parents of Almedia's husband John H. Hall.
