My husband, Ron Jackson, is the Grandson of Laura Barentine Taber Jackson. Benjamin Franklin Barentine is his Great Grandfather. Benjamin was the husband of Almeady Blackwood. I am sure about the spelling of Almeady because Ron's Aunt is named after her. I have been working on family history from both sides of our family since October 2005 and just recently found the Barentine connection to Ron's family. He had heard the name as a child but never put it all together due to the fact that he thought Taber was his Grandmother's maiden name. He didn't know she had been married before she married his Grandfather. We know that Laura was full blood Cherokee but have never been able to obtain a roll number. It would thrill Ron's family to be able to prove the connection. Any information or photos from this family would be appreciated.
