Hi All,
I am attempting to verify the marriage of Mahala BLACKWELL to Charles Daniel GAUNT. They resided in VA, Walnut, Fairfield Co., Ohio and St. Mary's, Adams Co., IN.
Here's the information as we know it:
Andrew GAUNT (abt 1766, Culpeper Co., VA -- abt 6/1850, Rappahannock Co., VA) wife Catherine CORBIN (1768, Culpeper Co., VA -- 1854, Rappahannock Co., VA) parents of Charles Daniel (known as Daniel) GAUNT (abt 1800, Culpeper Co., VA -- betw 8/28/1850 - 7/19/1860, probably Adams Co., IN)
I previously had him married to Rachael LILLARD 1824, Culpeper Co., VA, but there is a new wife (was there an error with Rachael?) Mahala BLACKWELL (abt 1810, VA -- betw 6/4-1870 and 6/7/1880, probably Adams Co., IN)
Their children:
1. Ann GAUNT b March, 1829 probably Ohio or VA
2. Francis GAUNT b 12/16/1832 Ohio
3. Margaret GAUNT b abt 1835, Ohio
4. Mary Ellen GAUNT b abt 1837, Ohio
5. Lafayette GAUNT b abt 1840 Ohio - d 1910 St. Mary's Twsp., Adams Co., IN
6. Meredith GAUNT (male) b abt 1843, probably Ohio
7. Emma Emeliza GAUNT b abt 1845, Ohio
8. John Henry GAUNT b betw 1848 - 1850, Ohio
9. Auora GAUNT (female) b abt 1853, Indiana
8/29/1850 Census;
Walnut, Fairfield Co., Ohio shows Daniel GANTZ 50 yrs., VA farmer (includes family)
Unknown date (letter from Daniel GAUNT to sister, Nancy GAUNT TURLEY) refers to purchasing 160 acres on the St. Mary's River in Adams Co., IN -- requests Mr. TURLEY be made responsible by Power of Attorney to sell his land in Virginia.

Lafayette GAUNT m Polly SWYGART (b 1859, Van Wert Co., Ohio -- 8/1934, Adams Co., IN) buried; New Mt. Tabor Cemetery, St. Mary's, Adams Co., IN her parents; James SWYGART and Mary NIEFORD.
