I have several Lipe-Blackwelder marriages. I too have Leah (b. 1798) who married Henry Lipe. Also have her brother Jeremiah (b. 1797) marrying Sarah Lipe. These are both children of Isaac Blackwelder and Mary Reidling. I also have Rachel and Christina as the children of Martin Blackwelder and Elisabeth Meisenheimer. Rachel (b. 1792 and my ancestor) married John Godfrey Lipe. Her brother Charles 'Reuben' Blackwelder (b. 1806) married Catharine Lipe and their sister Christina (b. 1806) married Moses Lipe. The fathers, Isaac and Martin were brothers both sons of Caleb Blackwelder ( Gottleib Schwarzwalder, the immigrant ancestor. These people were tied together by the same location in Germany that they came from, the fact that they were neighbors and probably the most important, the same church.
