Hi, Linda...I wish I knew more so I could help you!
My cousin..who is the one descended from Blackstone McDannel who married 2 neices of my 4th great grandmother, Nancy Britton Collet, (not at the same time, I hasten to add! His first wife died and he married her sister!).......doesn't know anything beyond Blackstone's parents who were John and Sarah Whitson McDannel. But I did find where John was born in Pennsylvania on a census and I'm betting the ones I found in the 1790 census with a Blackstone family in the same census is his. And Blackstone in your family's name is surely a clue.

I know what you mean about your family almost seeming to stay AWAY from records! I find MUCH more on Blackstone McDannel and family than I do on my own Brittons and Collets! Good luck and I'll remember you if I stumble onto something!!! I'd put you in touch with my cousin, but at present he is not doing genealogy. Marti
