Beverly, sorry to be so delinquient in responding to your several posts re "our" family. Having to really play "catch up" with quite a few of my correspondents!
RE: BLACKSTONE, JOHN "B." married Mary CLIETT/CLIATT 5 Mar 1817. They were the parents of our Rhoda Blackstone.
Census records reveal that he was born ca 1779(ca the same age as old Samuel MCDONALD) In 1820c he is in Warren Co.,GA , listed as John Blackstone SR & living next door is John Blackstone JR, thus indicating SR John was married previously...to whom is not known. I firmly believe that he "came from" one of the Blackstones of Columbia Co.,GA, but have been unable to determine "from whom"!
(so what else is new???) Anyway, that is another story, & I will post that information to you later..as to confuse matters, there was another John Blackstone in the area at the same time. A John "M." Blackstone. In corresponding with descendents of that family, I tend to believe these Johns were cousins. Our John B. Blackstone was in Fayette Co.,GA
(living beside Samuel McDonald) & later went to Chambers Co.,AL( very near Randolph Co.,AL) He died there in Chambers Co. & Mary was living with one of her children.
