Am seeking any information (esp. parents)about my great, great grandmother, Janetta F. D. BLACKISTON [1816-187+]. She m. James NICOLS in Talbot Co., MD 14 Feb 1833. I believe she was the daughter of Elizabeth BLACKISTON who appears in Queen Annes Co., MD in the 1840 census as a widow. Elizabeth probably was the widow of Samuel BLACKISTON of Kent Co., MD who d. ca.1830. When Janetta married, her marriage was announced in the Centreville, Q.A., MD newspaper. Janetta's first child, my great grandfather, was named Samuel Fernandis NICHOLS (the 'H' was added this generation). FERNANDIS probably was the family name of Janetta's mother, the widow Elizabeth BLACKISTON.
