Hi Gay,

Do you know the DOB of John and the names of any children? I'm trying to locate the parents of Ava/Avy Jane Blackston(e) who was born in 1829 in Upson County, GA she married in 1846, Chambers Co., AL to a James Landrum and they eventually moved back to Georgia. I did discover a John B. Blackston age 71 in the 1850 Chambers Co., AL Census. This is the information I found:

John B. Blackston 71 M Laborer VA
Mary 50 F GA
Cynthia 20 F GA
Frances 17 F GA
Elisa 15 F GA
Rhilla 11 F GA

and

David A. Blackston 20 M Farmer GA
Sara 20 F GA

I'm not sure if they're connected to Ava/Avy or not. I just started researching her ancestry this morning so I have nothing definate, actually pretty much zilch. LOL! Just thought I'd lurk around here and see what I could find.
