Ernie, if you are from the Hursts of Virginia then you may be from immegrant, Henry Hurst and his wife Ann Beeler. He was born in Lechamstead, England July 16,1679, married Ann Abt 1694 in Leckhamstead, had at least one of their sons, John, born Jan 9, 1699 and then came to Virginia. This is my line, however there were many Hursts in the colonies before Henry came over. In 1986 The Hursts were recognized as "founding fathers" during Flag Day ceremonies in Wastington D.C. Early records show there was James in Mass as early as 1640. There was a Henry Hurst in Mass. as early as 1615, five years before the Mayflower landed.
A John Hurst was a Boston resident in 1653 and Thomas Hurst settled in Hadley, Mass is 1678. From extensive research in England, the Hurst family lived and died at Leckhamstead England for several generations. This was my line and I have the information back to 1400's. If you need this info e-mail me and I will be glad to send it to you.
