The following is the obituary of Caroline Frances Blackmer as it probably appeared in THE LAPEER COUNTY PRESS:
"Caroline F. Deline was born at Marathon April 28, 1868, and has lived her entire life in this community. November 8, 1886, she was married to John F. Blackmer and to this union were born six children, two dying in infancy. She departed this life July 12, 1936, aged 68 years, 2 months, 13 days. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs Dora Putman, Mrs Mabel Goss, Mrs Ethel Stapleton; one son, William; 29 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Elizabeth Layman; two brothers, Charles Deline and James Deline. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The funeral was held at the West Deerfield church, conducted by Rev Ryan with burial in the Deerfield cemetery."
