I apologize for my tardy response; I just noticed your post…
I record of two Marion GOLD’s in the Parish of Douglas, Lanarkshire:
- Marion GOLD b. 21 Dec 1759 Parents: Hugh GOLD & Janet GILFILLAN
- Marion GOLD b. 17 Mar 1815 Parents: John GOLD & Helen HAMILTON
I have no marriage record for either, so I’m very interested to know where you made this connection. I noticed that Hugh STEEL and Helen BLACKLEY married in the parish of Douglas so there is a very good chance that there is a connection as my GOLD’s also originate from the Parish of Douglas; however, right now the connection eludes me.
Sorry I was not able to help out more; however, perhaps with some additional information I can assist in piecing this puzzle together for you.
