Forts during Black Hawk War, check the State Historical Society at Madison. I was there many years ago and Mr. Hanson had files of the forts in Black Hawk War as I was after an ancestor in Fort Gratiot and found what I was looking through. At that time he had the files in his filing cabinet as they were not yet published.
