Volunteer Rangers in Henderson Co., IL
Posted by: Barb Chandler (ID *****1711) Date: February 04, 2007 at 12:53:02

According to a letter my grandfather wrote my father, my great great grandfather, Elihu Chandler, helped build and guard a fort in Henderson Co., IL.

I read an article about the Volunteer Rangers during the Blackhawk War at; http://www.geocities.com/old_lead/knoxcounty.htm
I suspect Elihu might have been a Volunteer Ranger, and would like to back it up with source material.

If anyone has any suggestions how I might find out if he was a Ranger please let me know.

Thanks,
Barb Chandler
