I have located my ggrandfather, William, in the 1840 Census in Mill Creek, Pa which is adjacent to Erie. He also appears in subsequent censuses in Erie. He was born ca 1815 in PA and he died in 1893 in Erie. He was married to Sarah Brock who was born in 1830 in NY. He worked as a carpenter and lived at several different addresses in Erie as a renter. The census shows his father was born in England and his mother in PA.I do not know either of their names. I have had no success locating a passenger arrival record or a naturalization record.
There appears to be a number of Blackfords in PA but none I have seen that appear to be my line. Any thoughts or info will be appreciated.
