My notes say that the Standard History of Ross County, Ohio
(1917) discusses the genealogy of the Blackers on page 604.
It says that John Henry Blacker came to America in the
closing years of the Revolutionary War and settled in
Virginia, where he married Elizabeth Myers. His will gives his wife's name as Catherine. I don't know about the accuracy of the source of the information, or that Henry
didn't marry twice. Considering the pronunciation of some
German words, I think it's possible that his original name was spelled Blacher, Blocker, or Blocher, and, like many
Germans, came through Pennsylvania.
