My notes say that the Standard History of Ross County, Ohio (1917) discusses the genealogy of the Blackers on page 604. It says that John Henry Blacker came to America in the closing years of the Revolutionary War and settled in Virginia, where he married Elizabeth Myers. His will gives his wife's name as Catherine. I don't know about the accuracy of the source of the information, or that Henry didn't marry twice. Considering the pronunciation of some German words, I think it's possible that his original name was spelled Blacher, Blocker, or Blocher, and, like many Germans, came through Pennsylvania.
