Hi Trudy,
Thanks for responding. Unfortunately most of my research on the Blackburn family has been done online, so I'm not very confident about what I have so far. I'm tracking the ancestors of Martha BLACKBURN (George3, William2, Archibald1) who married Col. James ROGERS for my son and grandson.
We know that William (1727-1781) was s/o Archibald BLACKBURN and Martha WILSON from a survey in 1749 calling them widow and son of Archibald Blackburn deceased. William's children were identified in the wills of George Blackburn (1778) and Arthur Blackburn (1782). And yes, it seems plausible for Lt William Black to be a nephew of William.
How would you like to proceed on comparing notes? If you email me directly (my address isn't hidden), I will send you a PDF file showing 2 or 3 generations of Archibald's descendants with sources.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Kay (Offutt) Schmidt
