Children of Jacob Black and Mary Savage:
dau Jane, born SC in 1813, possibly married HOLOWAY.
son Isaac, born SC in 1815, married Nancy Ray in Fayette Co. AL, died 1861 in Monroe Co. MS. Had 9 children, including my great grandfather James Robert, born in 1851 in Monore Co MS and died in 1925 in Leflore Co OK.
son Benjamin, born SC in 1817, no other info.
son Robert, born SC in 1819, found in Fayette Co AL on census of 1850 and 1880, no other info.
dau Elizabeth "Betsy", born SC in 1822, married Benjamin Walter Papizan in Fayette Co. AL, died about 1897 in Fayette Co. AL. Had 10 children.
dau Nancy, born SC in 1825, married Leroy Pope Papizan in Fayette Co. AL, found in Fayette Co AL on census of 1880 (spelled Pappazan). Had 4 (or more) children.
dau Mary, born Fayette Co AL in 1827, married Jacob Lewis Pickle, lived in Monroe Co MS in 1850. Had 8 children.
son John, born Fayette Co AL in 1828, married Silvia ? , died in Fayette Co AL in 1863.
dau Susan, born Fayette Co AL in 1834, lived with sister Mary in Monroe Co MS in 1850, possibly married John Ingle and moved to TX.
children of Jacob Black and Phoebe Ashcraft:
son Francis Marion, born Fayette Co AL in 1841. MAY have married Amelia F Melton, however there was another "Frank M Black" in Fayette Co, and I BELIEVE it was he who married Amelia. Still researching that.
son George Washington Black, born Concord, Fayette, AL in 1845. Married Mary Ann Doughty, had 5 children, died in 1925 in Fayette Co AL.
The majority of this information is derived from Census records and US Gen Land Office records. Some is taken from other family trees and is not proven.
