John Black was born in Whithaven, London, England in 1781 and died in Ellsworth, Maine in 1856. His son George Nixon Black went to live in Boston on Beacon Hill and had a summer home in Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA which is next to Gloucester. Are we talking about the same people? George Nixon Black died in 1881 at Ellsworth, ME, buried at Mt Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, MA.
