The Gedcom format is designed to allow transfer of data between genealogy programs. I've used BK for several years to maintain my data but when I want printed charts I use TreeDraw. It's sold as shareware from www.spansoft.org from where you can download it. Takes a bit of work but well worth it.
Alternatively for charts which BK doesn't offer you could use any genealogy program which includes such charts.

Regards,
Graham
