I was sorry to see that no one has responded to your. All genealogy programs use a format to be able to trade information between different genealogy programs. It is called GEDCOM. It is a text file that has key words which is meaningful to the new program to import the data and put it in the proper format. The key words are like: NAME, BIRTH, DEATH, etc. These may not be the exact words, but I think you get the idea. In fact, I will put a small sample of what a GEDCOM looks like below. Now from FTM you would EXPORT the database you want to convert to BK. Make sure you tell FTM to SAVE THE GEDCOM with a name like CAHILL.GED (a GEDCOM file MUST have an extension of .GED or it will not be recognized as a GEDCOM). FTM seems to not automatically do this, so make sure you check to see what FILE TYPE it is saving as. BK then has an option (like all genealogy softwares) to IMPORT a GEDCOM file. The import and export are normally under the FILE command. BK will ask for the name of the GEDCOM and location. It will take it from there. You may have to tell it where to put a few things, but it is rather painless way to convert data. Here is the sample: 1 NAME MARY C. /GRIFFIN/ 1 SEX F 1 BIRT 2 DATE 18490930 2 PLAC RIPLEY,TIPAH,MISSISSIPPI 1 DEAT 2 DATE 19190703 2 PLAC MULLIN,MILLS CO.,TEXAS 1 BURI 2 PLAC PROSPECT,LEXINGTON,LEE CO.,TEXAS 1 NOTE FEDERAL CENSUS RECORDS 1 CONT WILL OF HER MOTHER 1 CONT CIVIL WAR PENSION PAPERS OF ROBERT HARRIS WARREN 1 CONT WILL OF ROBERT HARRIS WARREN 1 CONT OBITUARY IN THE LEXINGTON ENTERPRIZE 1 CONT DEATH CERTIFICATE
