I think I understand what you mean by a "Merge" function, but I'm not sure how it would work. I assume you mean that after importing the GEDCOM, you would not have duplicates of individuals who were already in your data and also in the GEDCOM you imported. However, how could the program determine which individuals were duplicates and which were simply different individuals with the same name?
