Melinda,
My grand father was James Wilson Bivens; He and my grand mother Ida May are buried in the Addington Ok cemetery. Ida May's Mother, my gr gr grand mother Virginia Wells is buried in the Hilltop cemetery, 3 miles east of Calvin, Okla. I have no information on James' ancestors. His children (whom you are probably aware) were, Alva, Ira Virgil (Jack), Maude Elmer and "Lizzie" (Elizabeth?)You have the info on Alva-Jack may have never married, if he was, I have forgotten. Maude, my mother, married Marlen Avery and had 7 children. Maude is buried in the Hilltop cemetery along with most of her Avery family.
Lizzie married Burl Lane and had 5 children. She and Burl lived in Oklahoma City all of their lives I believe. I am sure that you knew that James was a Baptist preacher, preaching all over southwest Oklahoma. What you may not know is the story behind the Bivens family moving from Ark to Indian territory. Contact me at [email protected] and I will share!
