Madisonville Democrat, (Monroe Co. TN) Wednesday, August 22, 1945, Page 2:

“Cas H. Bivens Killed By Train Near Sweetwater---Mr. Cas H. Bivens, aged about 55 years, was killed by a Southern Railway freight train near his home in Sweetwater on Saturday about noon and funeral services and burial occurred in Etowah [McMinn Co. TN] on Monday afternoon, Rev. R.W. Selman officiating. Mr. Bivens is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carl Johnson; one son, Jack Bivens of Sweetwater; and one brother, Gid Bivens of Maryville.”
