There is good evidence that Henrich Bitting came to Pennsylvania in 1723 from Freinsheim in the Palatinate. I have not seen any evidence of other Bittings coming to America. I suspect that Henrich may have come to the Palatinate in the late 17th century from elsewhere in Germany. There are records of his children born 1699-1713 in Freinsheim, but no other Bittings in the area. He may have originally come from Westphalia since there is evidence of Bittings there in early 17th cent. and today. There are unsupported anecdotes that the Bittings came from Alsace or Switzerland, but I doubt they are true.
