Seeking further information on Otto Bischoff, b. 1853 on New Jersey 1880 census. The records list the parents as Peter Bischoff, b. 1827 and Augusta Switzer, b. 1831.

The spellings may be off and some dates slightly skewed. A story has it that he was a german merchant marine in the 1870s and jumped ship to remain in the US. He married Elizabeth Hornsby in New Jersey and they had children in New Jersey, New York and Philadelphia. He died in January 1899. A large majority of the family moved on to Ogden, UT.
