Gatehouse of Fleet Birtwhistles

Does anybody know anything about the Birtwhistle, brothers (Thos & John I believe) originating in Yorkshire and who built The Mill on the Fleet at Gatehouse of Fleet in Scotland around 1780. One of 2 mills is now a heritage centre and well worth a visit and there is a Birtwhistle Street - of weavers' cottages . Was it Thos Birtwhistle 1746-1792 from Skipton?
