My great great grandfather Ansel R. Birt was born in 1829. He was married to to Elizabeth (Sarah) Raggan. They had my great grandfatherJohn Birtin 1875 in Denver, Missouri.
Arlington, RollaKansas show up around these times, as well as Carrollton Missouri. Family tradition says that Ansel R. Birt married an indian woman but that it was hushed up because one didn't want to acknowledge an indian in the family. EitherAnsel or his son John got 640 acre homestead in Guymon Oklahoma, a good portion still remains in the family. Ansel R Birt was a pioneer in aviation and had a crop duster. His son, grandsons, and great grandsons are also aviators. I don't have any records of who Ansel's parents are , but I found an interesting note in my grandmothers notebook
mentioning an Emery Birt 1839-1874 with 21 April 1853 Buchanan Missouri. He's not a direct ancestor, but the note then mentions "The Birt's of Prince Edward Island compiled by the Birt Committee" withsome numbers 929.273 and B539b. I don't know if this ties in to Ancil Birt or not, but I thought it worth passing along.
